Sustainable energy lessons

Our colleagues provide sustainable energy lessons at various schools across the country. Teachers, students, and parents are introduced to renewable energy and the developments within the energy transition. Eneco offers educational materials for schools, which are also useful for presentations and projects about renewable energy.

Renewable energy is becoming increasingly important. But what exactly is it? How will we all transition to sustainable energy? And what are the options? Young people will be the ones driving the energy transition in the future, so it's essential that they start learning about renewable energy sources in a fun and engaging way now.

Eneco has developed energy lessons for primary school children (years 3-8). Through the school materials, which include videos, experiments, tasks, and a quiz, children learn all about renewable energy. An Eneco employee acts as a guest teacher to deliver the lesson in the classroom, but teachers can also use the materials independently.

Did you know the materials also contain plenty of information for children to use in their own projects about renewable energy? The energy lesson lasts a maximum of two hours, and the guest teacher visit, as well as the use of the materials, is free of charge.

The future speaks

Year 8 students from the Lorentz School in Leiden helped us explore the question: how can we convince people that renewable energy is important? With support from the Missing Chapter Foundation and the provided children’s educational materials, the kids made a film. They came up with the script, and we facilitated the direction and technical aspects. The film turned out really cool, so make sure to check it out!
